John J. Davis’ ‘Granger Spy Novel’ Series Pulls in 290+ Reviews, Sells 80K Copies & Commissions Rights for International Version – All in Ten Months!

‘Blood Line’ and its upcoming sequel, ‘Bloody Truth’, have turned the ‘Granger Spy Novel’ series from one fledgling author “having a go” at publishing into an acclaimed global success story. With over 80,000 readers following a former CIA agent and his family as they investigate what first appears to be a simple home invasion, Davis’ creation has gone on to win three prestigious awards and commission rights to a Turkish publisher to produce a version in the nation’s native tongue. It’s safe to say that fans are chomping at the bit for more; with Davis today announcing that volume two will be available on December 4th, 2015.

For Immediate Release

Atlanta, GA – The raw statistics are stacked against new authors, with the average debut release selling fewer than fifty copies, and most of those going to sympathetic friends and family. In October of 2014, Georgia’s John J. Davis decided to risk the odds with the release of ‘Blood Line’, volume one of his newly-crafted ‘Granger Spy Novel’ series. What happened next, as the cliché says, was history (or for Davis…a total annihilation of the statistics!).

‘Blood Line’ has since gone on to sell over eighty-thousand copies to readers around the world, pulling in a host of awards including a Gold medal in the 2015 Reader’s Favorite Book Awards, and two awards (gold and silver) in the 2015 eLit Electronic Book Awards. In short, Davis was overwhelmed with the results.

But it’s easy to see why the volume outperformed its wildest expectations; it’s a story unlike anything else currently on the market.

Synopsis:

Blood Line is a high-voltage spy thriller that redefines rogue—the Granger Spy Novel series introduces a loving family with lethal issues caught in the crosshairs of global arms dealers. When a simple home invasion turns out to be not so simple, Ron Granger must put aside his quiet rural life and return to the Central Intelligence Agency. Aided by his brilliant wife, Valerie, and resourceful teen daughter, Leecy, Ron must quickly decide who to believe among the calculating opportunists, shrewd criminals, and power-hungry rival agencies racing to possess the technology that will change modern warfare forever. But when Leecy is kidnapped, Ron and Val must choose between the mission and a rescue. With time quickly running out, Ron only knows one thing: When you can’t trust anyone else, trust your family.

“I knew I had a story that defied convention, but I didn’t expect it to literally sky-rocket to success,” explains Davis, who has over 290 reviews on Amazon. “While high sales numbers and awards are nice, my proudest achievement was our recent sale of rights to an executive in Istanbul who plans to release a Turkish version of ‘Blood Line’. If you told me ten months ago that all of this was to come, I’d have said some very choice words to you!”

Continuing, “But it hasn’t all been celebratory; I’ve been hard at work writing volume two. I settled on the title ‘Bloody Truth’ and am currently working with my team to finalize the fine details for a launch this December.”

Synopsis:

A lot can happen in three days. Friends can become enemies, enemies can become friends, and the truth, if you can find it, can get bloody. When a mistake in a run-of-the-mill reconnaissance mission is ruthlessly exploited as a pretext for war, the Grangers must scramble to expose the plan before casualties start mounting. To make matters worse, someone is using a powerful computer algorithm against the international intelligence community, raiding files and manipulating reports. Ron, Valerie, and Leecy go undercover to try to identify the real mastermind before the CIA and Interpol arrest the wrong person, leaving the world’s data vulnerable. But can they do it before they are exposed as agents? When you can’t trust anyone else, trust your family.

As can be expected, both volumes have garnered positive reviews among critics. In reference to ‘Blood Line’, Kirkus commented, “Sharply written, with characters that readers will be happy to see again.”

Charles A. Ray adds, “For a thrill-a-page read, I think you’d have to search far and wide to find a book that surpasses Blood Line by John S. Davis.”

Pre-release reviews for ‘Bloody Truth’ have been equally as impressive. D. Donovan from Midwest Book Reviews writes, “Bloody Truth is intrigue, thriller, espionage and counterintelligence at its best!”.

His inspiration for the Granger family-of-spies comes from the people he has known and his family roots in the Carolinas—the extraordinarily strong and gentle women and men, whose lives are defined by the love, trust and respect for family.
